The Baal Haturim in last weeks Torah reading commented that the word V’nasnu (which means to give) reads the same way forwards and backwards in Hebrew. He says that “This teaches us that whatever someone gives to tzedakah comes back to them”. Jack Doueck a businessman and contemporary author calls this chesed boomerang. Others have said that helping the weak makes you strong, and that giving does more for the giver then it does for the recipient.
As we approach Pesach lets remember that there are many poor young children in Israel who would benefit greatly from our tzedakah, chesed, and concern. This Pesach let’s make sure that no orphan in Israel suffers. This is a wonderful time to support the girls at the Lev Lalev Orphanage in Netanya.
Shabbat Shalom
